Login fails – Wave will not accept my user name or password

If this is your first login attempt:

  • Confirm that you are using the username and password you received in two separate mails from “Wave" or "support@mckinsey.com”. If you have not received your credentials, please check your company’s email general folder and spam folder and/or contact your company Wave representative to request access to Wave.

  • Confirm that your new password meets Wave's password requirements:

    • At least 8 characters
    • A mix of upper and lower case letters
    • A minimum of one number or one non-alphanumeric (e.g. !, %, $, &)
    • Cannot contain part of your username
  • If you received your password more than 24 hours ago, it will have expired for security reasons. You will be able to request a new one automatically by following the simple and fast process outlined below under “I forgot my password or my password expired”.

  • Ensure that you enter your username and password correctly. For convenience and to avoid errors, we suggest you copy/paste your username and password from the Wave credential emails with no leading or trailing spaces.

  • Make sure the caps lock key is not down as passwords are case-sensitive.

  • You will be required to change your password on your first login attempt, and before accessing the Wave application.

If you have logged in before:

  • Ensure that you enter your username and password correctly.

  • Make sure the caps lock key is not down as passwords are case-sensitive.

  • Remember that you changed your password on your first login attempt. If you do not remember your password, you will be able to request a new one automatically by following the simple and fast process outlined below under “I forgot my password or my password expired”.

  • If you do not remember your user name or can’t find it in your mailbox under “Wave" or "support@mckinsey.com”, please see the specific topic below.

Still unable to log in?

If you have entered your username and password correctly and are still unable to log in, your account may have been locked for security reasons (e.g., after five incorrect attempts, or after 6 months of inactivity). Please submit a Wave Support form to unlock your account.
